Arizona Rep. Jacqueline Parker has criticized the United States' border control methods, suggesting that they may not adequately prepare the country for situations similar to the recent attack by Hamas in Israel. During the news of the Hamas attack, Parker made a statement, saying, "500 Syrians in one day coming across our southern border. The US is next people. Every democrat pretending they 'stand with Israel' better start getting on top of border security because our country is not as prepared for this as Israel is."

The ongoing border crisis continues to impact border towns in multiple states, including Nogales and Lukeville in Arizona, where there have been numerous incidents of migrant crossings, often resulting in dangerous situations and casualties. Since President Joe Biden took office, close to 4 million individuals have crossed the border, according to National Review.

Lawmakers have expressed mounting concerns about various critical issues arising from the ongoing border situation. Key concerns include human and drug smuggling, as well as the growing influence of cartels in the region. In July, there was a surge in unauthorized border crossings, particularly concentrated in the Tucson region, with up to 2,000 migrants crossing per day. Border Patrol authorities reported a record-breaking number of nearly 40,000 apprehensions, as reported by CBS.

Worries about border security have been heightened following the recent assault by Hamas on Israel. Former President Donald Trump and other figures have expressed concern over the potential connection between the plans of Hamas terrorists and the ongoing border crisis in the US, according to Newsweek.

In Arizona, the number of migrant families arriving increased by over 126% from June to August. Border Patrol reported encountering 93,108 migrant families at the U.S.-Mexico border in August, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Migrants have the opportunity to stay in the country for up to two years, depending on the presence of a U.S. sponsor, background checks, and the completion of necessary applications, as reported by AZ Central.

Encounters in the Tucson Sector of the Border Patrol increased by 24% from July to August, reaching the highest level in 16 years. These encounters involved migrants arriving from various countries, including Ecuador and India, with the majority of them being family units, according to AZPM News.

Ben Bergquam, Founder of Frontline America, expressed his concerns while visiting the Lukeville border, saying, "One van down, here comes your new neighbors, America. They're loading those vans up and taking them to the Ajo Border Patrol station to process them. That means Border Patrol is not on the line out here to the west or out to the east, which allows the cartels to do everything else they want."

Bergquam also shared footage from Lukeville, Arizona, stating, "More breaking footage from Lukeville, Arizona. With the attacks we just saw in Israel, what I’m seeing on the border is even more concerning. Please share and help wake up America to this national security threat being brought in by Joe Biden and the Democrats!"
