The American Baseball Coaches Association on Friday honored Arizona Baseball star catcher Daniel Susac with a spot on the Second Team All-America roster.

Susac was eligible for the organization's All-America teams after earning First Team West All-Region honors from the ABCA earlier this week. They are the fourth group to award Susac All-America recognition this offseason, following Second Team selections from Collegiate Baseball, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association, and Perfect Game.

The sophomore campaign put together by Susac in 2022 was one of the most successful seasons in program history. The Roseville, California native posted just the 10th 100-hit season in Arizona history on the way to registering an astounding .366 batting average. Susac also picked up 50 runs scored, 19 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, and 61 RBI to go with a .582 slugging percentage and .429 on-base percentage.

Susac's hits came in bunches, with the standout sophomore logging 33 multi-hit performances, the fourth best single-season mark in program history — he finished the year with more multi-hit games than games with zero or one hit.

As Arizona's everyday starting catcher he was an essential piece of the team's defensive effort as well, turning in a .987 fielding percentage on 452 chances while throwing out nine attempted base stealers.

Through announcements, Susac's current haul of postseason honors includes:

  • 2022: ABCA Second Team All-American
  • 2022: Perfect Game Second Team All-American
  • 2022: NCBWA Second Team All-American
  • 2022: ABCA First Team West All-Region
  • 2022: Collegiate Baseball Second Team All-American
  • 2022: Pac-12 All-Conference
