Pima County Department of Environmental Quality issued the following announcement on Aug. 19.
2021 marks the first year that PDEQ is participating in EPA’s Photochemical Monitoring Assessment Stations (PAMS) network. The County’s PAMS site is located at the reservoir near 22nd and Craycroft, and monitors ambient air for 25 different volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), carbonyls, ozone, nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and other nitrogen oxides.
The site also houses a full suite of meteorological instruments, completing a set of data to support this nationwide study focusing on the formation, photochemical interactions, and transport of ozone.
