Arizona Rep. Justin Heap publicly endorsed Jim Jordan for Speaker of the House, suggesting that Republicans who do not support Jordan are inclined towards forming a coalition government with Democrats.

Heap stated, "With the failure of the second vote for Jim Jordan as Speaker, it is becoming clear that there are a group of Republican legislators who are actively trying to work with Democrats on a 'Coalition Government.'"

This comes after Jim Jordan faced another setback in his quest for the role of House Speaker, with 22 House Republicans voting against him in a second vote on Wednesday. This marks a slight increase from the 20 opposing votes he received in the first round. However, Jordan remains determined to continue seeking the support needed to become the next Speaker.

Several Republican representatives have voiced concerns about feeling pressured to vote for Jordan, primarily because their colleagues are singling them out for not endorsing his candidacy. Former Speaker Kevin McCarthy faced a similar challenge when it took 15 rounds of voting in January to secure his role as speaker, according to CNN News.

Earlier this month, Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz initiated the vote to oust McCarthy, marking an event that has not taken place in over a century. As a result, the House is now responsible for selecting a new Speaker. The motion was successful with a vote of 216 to 210, with eight Republicans aligning with Democrats in favor of McCarthy's removal from the speakership. McCarthy informed lawmakers that he would not seek re-election, leaving the position vacant, according to CNN News.

Jim Jordan is known as one of the "most conservative members of Congress" and a strong advocate for taxpayers. He is a supporter of former President Trump and played a role in founding the House Freedom Caucus, where he served as its first Chairman. Additionally, he holds the position of Chairman on the House Judiciary Committee and is an active member of the House Oversight Committee. Jordan currently represents Ohio's 4th District and holds a Master's degree in Education, a Law Degree, and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics, according to his website.

Heap's endorsement of Jordan highlights the divide within the Republican Party, with some members leaning towards forming a coalition government with Democrats. Heap expressed his belief that the existence of a "Uniparty Establishment" is not a myth or conspiracy theory, stating, "Many politicians, in both parties, are wedded to the established system and the way our government has come to function. They are loyal to their own parties only so long as they do not challenge the established order. As soon as the system is threatened from the right or the left, they will happily drop their party interests and join together to beat the barbarians back from the gate and keep the Establishment in control."

Heap further criticized the influence of big donors and special interests in politics, questioning why politicians would want to be "accountable to voters" when the establishment frees them from that burden and helps them get reelected without the need to respond to their constituents.

The battle for the Speaker of the House position is not only between Republicans and Democrats or conservatives versus progressives, according to Heap. He sees it as a war of 'Us versus The System.'

As the race for Speaker of the House continues, it remains to be seen whether Jordan will gain the necessary support to secure the position or if a coalition government between Republicans and Democrats will emerge.
