There were 5,049 students enrolled in Catalina Foothills Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 5% less than the 5,316 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 50.9% of them were boys, and 49.1% were girls.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 55.8% of the Catalina Foothills Unified District total enrollment.

Catalina Foothills Unified District roughly covers schools within Pima County and has a main office in Tucson.

Among the seven schools in Catalina Foothills Unified District, Catalina Foothills High School recorded the highest enrollment of 1,887 students in the 2022-23 school year.

WalletHub claimed Arizona’s school system ranked among the worst across U.S. for class size, performance, funding, safety, and instructors’ credentials.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.
