Tanque Verde Unified District Education: 2,244 Students were enrolled in schools in 2022-23 school year

There were 2,244 students enrolled in Tanque Verde Unified District schools in the 2022-23 school year, 1.3% more than the 2,215 in the previous year, according to the Arizona Department of Education.

Out of the total students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 51.8% of them were girls, and 48.2% were boys.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 72.4% of the Tanque Verde Unified District total enrollment.

Tanque Verde Unified District roughly covers schools within Pima County and has a main office in Tucson.

Among the four schools in Tanque Verde Unified District, Tanque Verde High School recorded the highest enrollment of 711 students in the 2022-23 school year.

A 2023 study from Scholaroo.com ranked Arizona last out of all U.S. states in terms of educational success, giving the state poor marks for school quality, student success, and teacher-to-student ratio.

In 2022 Arizona had roughly one teacher for every 19 students, compared to the national average of one teacher for 16 students. Teachers handling a higher number of students was found to have negative consequences for students’ school performance.
