It's #BlackHistoryMonth and we're doing something a little different! Join us in celebrating the month of February with a 28-day bookathon!
Every day, we'll celebrate a great book centering Black folks from history and the present (and sometimes the future!). We hope you'll join us in celebrating your favorite books as well, and discover new titles at your local Pima County Public Library location.
Today, we celebrate Phillis Wheatley, the first Black American published author of a book of poetry. Her work has withstood the test of time among lovers of poetry and the written word, and her name is one of the ones most aligned with American poetry.
