The Town of Marana has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The Town received the award for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2021.
According to the GFOA, the Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
The comprehensive financial report was judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive "spirit of full disclosure" to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report.
“This award would not be possible without the assistance of the Finance Department and personnel in various departments. We also appreciate the unfailing support from the Mayor and Council and the Manager’s Office,” said Town of Marana Finance Deputy Director Starla Anderson.
This is the 14th consecutive year the Town of Marana has achieved this prestigious award.
