Thanks to rebates offered through Tucson Electric Power EasySave Program, Marana Schools are saving significant money on energy while converting to energy efficient LED lighting at several of our schools and District offices. The conversion to LED lighting has been provided at no cost to the District!
Since 2019, 12 Marana schools located in Tucson Electrical Power’s service area have been eligible to receive the free LED upgrades. Since we began this work, MUSD has received $379,540 in new internal and external LED lighting, and saved $257,533 annually thanks to converting to LED!
The EasySave program is designed to encourage K-12 schools to make energy efficient equipment upgrades. Rebates are available for upgrades on lighting, refrigeration, controls and HVAC systems.
“TEP’s EasySave rebates have allowed MUSD to completely offset the costs associated with purchasing and installing new LED lighting, while also allowing us to invest in energy-saving LEDs across the district,” said Jenny Downing, energy conservation coordinator for the district. “Saving on energy allows our district to invest those dollars in schools, our students and our programs.”
