The Town of Oro Valley announced that lane restrictions on Naranja Drive between Monterra Vista Drive and Desert Whisper Way will be extended until Friday, July 8 to accommodate a water main replacement. In a June 16 press release, the Town originally anticipated the construction work ending on Friday, July 1.
The extension is due to unforeseen circumstances regarding the condition of the water main pipe that crews are replacing. The extension will allow for crews to properly fix and pressure test the pipe before repaving the road.
Right now, traffic is shifted to the westbound lanes on Naranja Drive, with one lane of traffic each way. Speed is reduced to 25 mph in the construction zone. These control measures will remain in place until July 8. Drivers are encouraged to find alternative routes of travel to avoid delays.
