Sun Shuttle is expanding its options for riders with a new curb-to-curb shared ride service in Marana/Avra Valley.
It’s called Dial-a-Ride and anyone can book a trip to any location in the service area.
According to Sun Tran, Dial-a-Ride will launch on Monday, June 13th and will replace the former Sun Shuttle Route 410.
However, riders will be still be able to use Route 410 for two more weeks while the new service is being rolled out to the public.
Sun Tran says this service is not restricted to Marana residents.
“Curb-to-curb allows a customized public transportation experience,” said Preston McLaughlin, the senior transportation planner for Pima Association of Governments, which manages the Regional Transportation Authority. “This upgraded level of service opens up many new destination options for our riders.”
The service area covers I-10 from Cochie Canyon Trail to Tangerine Road, along parts of Avra Valley Road including the Marana Regional Airport, areas west of Roadrunner Elementary School and more.
