Marana Police Department issued the following announcement on Oct. 19.
Congratulations Lead Police Officer Voigt!!! See the description below, due to his hard work and dedication, Officer Voigt has been awarded MADD (Mothers Against Drink Driving) award on October 7th, 2021.
During the past two years Officer Voigt has continued to provide notable contributions to DUI enforcement. Officer Voigt devoted 80 hours of time spent strictly enforcing DUI laws. He has conducted approximately 136 traffic stops with 9 being investigated for misdemeanor DUI charges. He had contact with 9 sober drivers. While working a regular patrol shift, Officer Voigt accounted for an additional 12 DUI arrests. He has assisted in other DUI investigations by performing 53 blood draws and performing 33 HGN exams.
Officer Voigt’s dedication to MADD’s goal of ending drunk driving has been unwavering and his efforts have had a positive impact on the citizens of the Town of Marana and Pima County.
