Marana Police Promotes New Lieutenant and Sergeant

Town of Marana issued the following announcement on Sept. 24.

On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, Marana Police Department honored two promotions within the department. 

SERGEANT JIMMY RIZZI

The Marana Police Department hired Jimmy Rizzi on July 7, 2014.  He quickly learned the skills of a police officer.  Jimmy is actively involved as a coordinator for the Marana Police Department Explorer Program and is a General Instructor for various topics in the department. In 2019, he was selected to attend Field Training Officer School and passed the course. Since then, he has successfully trained new hires for the Marana Police Department. In 2020, he took the first step to become a supervisor and was assigned to the Field Services Division. 

On August 28, 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and is currently assigned to the Field Services Division.

LIEUTENANT CHRISWELL SCOTT

Chriswell began his career in law enforcement with the Tucson Police Department in October 2006. He was hired by the Marana Police Department in July 2011.  In 2013, he joined the Pima Regional SWAT team and served as a tactical operator for 3 years. He is a founding member of the Fit-for-Duty program at the Marana Police Department and received the Chief’s Citation Award for his dedication to the program. In November 2015, he was promoted to the rank of sergeant. As a sergeant, he was assigned to patrol, the Office of Professional Standards, and the Criminal Investigations Unit.

On August 28, 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and is currently assigned to the Field Services Division.
