Sahuarita issue the following announcement on July 16.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will be hosting an informational poster session about the Sahuarita Air Force Range Formerly Used Defense Site (FUDS), which is located along the eastern border of Sahuarita and east of the town. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, August 5, from 5 to 7 p.m. and will be held in the Town of Sahuarita Council Chambers at town hall. A short presentation will be provided regarding the history of the site, the process USACE follows to investigate and remediate FUDS properties, and the safety steps individuals should follow if they suspect they have come across a munition item.
USACE representatives will be available until 7 p.m. to informally discuss the project and respond to questions attendees may have about the site. Anyone interested in learning more about the site is encouraged to arrive anytime during the 2 hour block to learn more about the site.
