Mayor Regina Romero and the Tucson City Council have approved $2.5 million in funds to go toward We Are One | Somos Uno Resiliency Fund to supply small businesses and nonprofits with grants.
As part of the award, $2 million will be set to go to small businesses, while the remaining $500,000 will go toward nonprofits in the city, according to a press release from the city. The program is partnered with the YWCA of Southern Arizona and the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA).
The program is currently accepting applications. Grants for small businesses will be distributed through the YWCA's Women's Business Center. Small businesses can receive up to $10,000 in grants. The CFSA will distribute the nonprofit grants. Nonprofits can receive up to $20,000 through the program.
Nonprofits in both the City of Tucson and the City of South Tucson are eligible for grants from the program, according to the press release.
