Arizona public employees as a whole averaged 18 percent less with a compensation of $59,597. Total compensation is made up of an employee's annual salary with the addition of any overtime pay earned throughout the year.

The highest-paid public employee working for the Board for Private Postsecondary Education—Teri Stanfill—earned $110,861 as the director.
