Pima County held a public meeting June 23 for citizens interested in learning more about the proposed tax increases for the next fiscal year, according to a press release from the county.
The county has notified its tax paying residents of the proposed increased, according to the press release. Pima County expects a 2.98% increase in secondary property taxes, which is approximately $1.393,605.
For a $100,000 house, the expected taxes paid would be $53.53, the press release from Pima County states. If the county didn't increase the taxes, the price would be $51.98, which shows the rate increase is minor.
The county also notified taxpayers of an expected increase to the county's flood control district, which is looking at a 4.28% increase, according to the press release. For a $100,000 home, residents would be paying $33.35 in taxes instead of $31.98 if the rate weren't to increase.
Lastly, the county expected a 0.99% increase in primary property taxes, which would make a $392.30 payment on a $100,000 home be $388.35.
